To encourage equity, diversity, and inclusion in the library profession, PLA sponsored thirty (30) general conference scholarship distributed among three categories: Early-career Library Staff Scholarships, Non-Salaried or Unemployed Library Staff Scholarships, and Library School Student Scholarships. Each scholarship includes complimentary registration, one year of ALA and PLA membership, and a $500 stipend for travel and housing. These scholarships provide financial assistance for public library workers and students to be able to attend the PLA 2022 Conference in person in Portland, March 23–25.
PLA’s Conference Scholarship program is made possible by the generous support of our members. We invite you to invest in the future leaders of the profession and donate to the Friends of PLA Fund! All donations made to PLA from November 2021 through February 2022 will be applied to the PLA 2022 Conference scholarships and grants. Your donation will go toward providing library workers and students the opportunity to sharpen their skills, reconnect with colleagues, and revitalize their passion for the vital work they do at the PLA 2022 Conference in Portland, Oregon, March 23–25. To learn more about the benefits of giving, please review our PLA 2022 Scholarship Donor sheet (PDF).
