If your library consists of more than one service location you have probably already considered floating one or more of your collections. An experienced panel share their decision process, outcomes, and impact of moving to the floating collection model. You'll learn the "why," and the "how to," along with the pros and cons of this model.
Benefits and Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to determine from objective data, panel experience, and discussions whether or not floating some or all collections could benefit their library.
- Participants will understand the impact of this model on library budgets, materials, workflows, staff, and customer service.
- Participants will learn about methods currently in use to evaluate and redistribute itmes as needed.
