Denver Public and Houston Public Libraries are providing examples of leveraging resources through the use of innovative technology by developing strategic partnerships that serve the community. This interactive panel session will demonstrate the impact and importance of these partnerships, as well as explore the challenges encountered in each.
Benefits and Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able identify possible funding sources and understand the benefits and problems that can occur when partnering with a government agency or civic organization.
- Participants will be able to further understand the increasingly important
role that community partnerships play in increasing the capacity and
effectiveness of libraries and in securing funding.
- Participants will be able to identify and learn strategies for community engagement that result in enhanced library services, improved relationships between libraries and community members, and stronger communities, all through the use of technology.
