Information for Speakers
Thank you for agreeing to speak at one or more of the preconference/program sessions being held during the Public Library Association’s 11th National Conference, March 21-25, 2006 in Boston.
Below, you will find links to all speaker forms as well as copies of any communications sent to speakers. All communications from the PLA Office to National Conference speakers will be sent via e-mail. The Program Organizers also receive copies of communications with speakers.
Some general information you may find useful:
- You can find an interactive programming schedule on the PLA National conference web site at http://www.placonference.org/programming_schedule.cfm.
- All speakers who are members of ALA/PLA must be registered for the conference. Advance registration is now closed. You must register onsite.
- Speakers who are not members of ALA will receive a complimentary one-day registration badge. If speakers wish to attend the rest of the conference or any events that require additional payment (e.g., author luncheon) they must use the online registration form found at www.pla.org/registration.htm.
- All speakers are responsible for making his/her own travel arrangements, unless the organizer of your program requested that travel expenses be provided for you. Due to the proximity of the event dates, conference housing has been turned over to the hotels. All reservation inquiries should be directed to the specific hotel of your choice. Be sure to identify yourself as a PLA 2006 attendee, even if there are no more rooms at the conference rate.
