PLA BOSTON ABOUT PLA. The Public Library Association with more than 10,000 members is one of the largest divisions of the American Library Association - the oldest and largest library associations in the world. PLA's purpose is to advance the development and effectiveness of public library service and public librarians. Based in Chicago, PLA is a member-driven organization. The association exists to provide a diverse program of communications, publication, advocacy, continuing education, and programming for its members and others interested in the advancement of public library service. At PLA 2004, held February 25-27, 2004, in Seattle, Washington, more than 8,800 buyers attended. According to a survey of attendees conducted immediately following that conference: 99% VISITED THE EXHIBITS HALL 71% VISITED THE EXHIBITS HALL THREE OR MORE TIMES IN ADDITION, PAST CONFERENCE ATTENDEE SURVEYS HAVE REVEALED: 68% of PLA attendees have operating budgets in excess of $1 million 25% of PLA attendees have operating budgets in excess of $5 million 63% of PLA attendees are authorized to purchase goods or services for their libraries. PLA'S 11TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXPOSITION Every other year, PLA sponsors the world's largest conference devoted exclusively to the needs of public librarians, attracting thousands of attendees who come together to learn about the latest in library products, services, and new technologies; to get ideas; to make choices; to buy products. They'll be looking for innovative solutions and cost-saving technologies. Your representatives need to be there, to meet these valuable clients who work in all areas of the library profession and who make thousands of purchasing decisions each year. RENTAL FEES Booth rental fees are $20.00 per square foot, with an additional $150 charge for an open corner. See the online floor plan for details. To secure a great space, download and complete the Exhibit Space Application, and mail it with a $500 deposit, per booth, payable to the Public Library Association, Dept. 77-3447, Chicago, IL 60678-3447. Balances are due no later than October 28, 2005. BOOTHS Standard booths and island booths will be available in the exhibit hall of the John B. Hynes Convention Center. Send your application in today for best placement! All booths must be carpeted. TABLES ALSO AVAILABLE A limited number of table top exhibit spaces will be available for small vendors or new companies. The purchase of a table top space is limited to three conference years. Once an exhibitor displays in a booth, they no longer qualify for a table top. The rental fee is $600 and is due in full with space reservation. One table top per category.
