PLA is offering a scholarship to one library school student to attend the PLA 2012 Conference, March 13-17 in Philadelphia. The scholarship covers conference registration, four nights hotel and up to $500 reimbursement for travel to and from the conference.

PLA offering video contest to win registration and travel to PLA 2012

PLA has just announced a new contest for one library professional to win his or her way to the PLA 2012 Conference, March 13-17 in Philadelphia. The contest requires participants to submit a 60-second (or less) video telling PLA what they would hope to get out of attending PLA 2012. One winner will receive a free registration, four nights hotel and up to $500 reimbursement for travel to and from the conference.

PLA 2012 Virtual Conference to feature same quality programming offered at on-site conference in Philadelphia

Registration for the PLA 2012 Virtual Conference is now open. On March 15-16, 2012, PLA will share a condensed, live and online PLA Conference with public librarians and public library workers who can’t make the trip to Philadelphia.

Eleven preconferences offer in-depth public library education at PLA 2012

Attendees at the Public Library Association (PLA) 2012 Conference in Philadelphia will have the opportunity to get a head start on professional development before the conference is fully underway. On March 13 and 14, 11 preconferences for public library administrators, managers and staff will offer practical education in a focused and interactive environment. Several programs are a perfect fit for public library trustees as well. These intensive programs range in length from half day to a day and a half and feature knowledgeable, professional instructors.

PLA 2012 Conference bookended by exciting keynote speakers

The Public Library Association (PLA) is counting down to its biennial conference, PLA 2012, March 13–17, in Philadelphia. The conference will get off to an inspiring start as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. takes the stage at the Opening General Session. Following several packed days of education and networking, conference attendees will be ready to relax and have a laugh with actor Betty White at the Closing General Session.
